Step 3: Install new french doors

So, after repairing the damaged boards and a small section of the floorboards, my new fancy french doors with blinds in between the glass was installed. It look a bit of work for Jeremy and Jeremiah to get it to fit and as you can see in the pictures below we still have a bit of work to do to make it look nice from the inside and out, but it works and I love it! Next step is purchasing siding and gutters to finish the house and then we'll start on the retaining wall and deck. We're slowly moving along.
Ahh! We have a hole in the house. We got lucky that it didn't start raining before they got the new door installed.

St. Louis Arch with the Gaithers

On Sunday of Memorial Day weekend we took Jeremy's family to the arch. The place was packed and we had to wait an hour and a half to go up in the arch. Jeremy's Surprise Graduation Party

So Jeremy's been working really hard trying to finish his master's degree from Wash U and working 12-14 hour days at work. So, he's finally graduated and I thought he deserved a party so I called his entire family to see if they could make it our house for Memorial Day Weekend. Everyone said they could and that was the beginning of the greatest surprise party ever! I sent Jeremy off to get a massage Saturday morning while everyone arrived at the house. We hid in the kitchen and when he came back, everyone yelled surprise and he about fainted! He was blown away that everyone had traveled so far for him. We had some lunch and then made our way to Grant's Farm and then Cunetto's (on the hill) for dinner. Here's a giant turtle we saw at Grant's Farm. But the surprises weren't over, when we got home he had a Dairy Queen ice cream cake (his favorite!) waiting for him. It was a great day!

4 Years - May 22!

I can't believe we have been married for 4 years already. Just seems like yesterday I was planning the wedding. So many things have happened in 4 years. For our anniversary we went to Tony's on Main in downtown St. Charles. The food was amazing and we would recommend it to anyone! Afterwards we had some time to kill before small group so we walked around downtown and along the river. It was great because no one was there, we had the whole place to ourselves. Step 2: Demolish Deck

It only took Jeremy a total of probably 7 hours to almost completely demo the deck. Here's what it looks like now.
