Happy Halloween

Look at our little fireman!  Adorable…several people gave us extra candy just because he was a fireman.  After we trick or treated on our street, we came back to the house to check out what we got and hand candy out to the other kids.  I think Tyler had just as much fun doing that as getting the candy for himself.

Pumpkin Carving 2012

Since daddy is out of town this week we got our pumpkin carving on Friday night!  Tyler had fun helping daddy cut open the pumpkins, but didn’t want to touch anything inside.  Jeremy is the master pumpkin carver and does a get job cutting out whatever design I find.  This year I chose a simple pumpkin face and a more difficult Mickey Mouse design.

Didn’t want to stick his hand inside the pumpkin and get all slimy.

We showed him how he could carve his own little pumpkin with his hammer and a nail.  He loved it and worked on it for a good 15 minutes!

Shhhhh! Master at work.

_MG_0573

Hold your breath – lets see if he liked the finished pumpkins…..

_MG_0574

Yep! Awesome job daddy.

Remember puff paint!?  Well I found an old bottle I had in my craft supplies and it was a metallic purple – perfect for halloween so I designed a fancy dot pumpkin with puff paint.  I saw on Pinterest someone did this with glow in the dark puff paint.  I’ll have to keep that in mind for next year.

Pumpkin hunt

Our favorite little local place to get our pumpkins is at a super nice family farm really close to our house in old town St. Peters.  They always have stuff for Ty to play on and you get to hunt their fields for the perfect pumpkin.  Last weekend we went hunting!

Ty picked out this wagon and dragged it halfway to where we started our hunt.

We got 10 pumpkins this year!  and the kicker is we only paid $20!  Gotta love family farms.

Daniels Farm

About a week ago we had a MOPS playdate at Daniels Farm in Saint Peters.  It was really fun.  I love all the activities they have for kids in the fall!  They had a straw maze, petting zoo, corn box (like a sand box, but corn kernels), slides, barrel train, tractor tire swings and tire horsey swings.  It was chilly, but Tyler had a ball.

He really liked this cow as you can tell from his face!

The corn box was awesome.  So much better than sand because it doesn’t stick to you!

Forgot to mention above, they had these cute tractor bikes!

And antique de-cobbing machines.  Ha – I just made that up, I don’t know what the official name is – they took the kernels off the corn cob.

This was fun – cute little pumpkin!  Until he tried to climb through the pumpkin and got stuck.

Awesome huge pipe slide!  And he got to pick his own pumpkin as we were leaving.

Mini daddy

For Ty’s birthday he got a workbench with lots of tools and loves playing with him.  Below he was working with daddy in the garage and even sharing his saw to help daddy. So cute!

Sneak peak

It’s almost holiday card season!  I love seeing how everyone grows and changes from the year before.  We had our pictures taken last weekend and I think I found the perfect one for our cards.  For the past 3 years I have always gone back to Shutterfly for the beautiful card designs, high quality paper and fast delivery.  This year, they have outdone themselves with even more amazing Photo Christmas Cards.  Here are some of the ones we are debating over.

Party #2

Yesterday we had another birthday party for Ty with family at my parents house in Columbia.  I made a fire truck cake and Jeremy worked his magic on the grill.

Hey Johnsons – not cool!

_MG_0323

Eating lunch with cousins!

_MG_0329

Present time – Ty got his very own tool workbench.

_MG_0335

Lincoln logs.  Tonight he was using his nail gun to put the Lincoln logs together.  What a smart little guy!

Birthday cake time!  Looks like Keagan is more excited than Ty.  As you can see here, the cake started to fall apart (I forgot to put icing between the layers), so we had to get some quick pictures.

_MG_0370

He had a little trouble with the last candle and no they weren’t trick candles.

_MG_0382

Trying really hard to blow that candle out!

_MG_0403

Big cousin Caedman helped us out – now we are all happy.

_MG_0408

Do you think he liked it?

_MG_0413

Aunt Amanda – will you build a house with me?

_MG_0421

Thanks to everyone who made Ty’s birthday special!

Cruisin’ around campus

We went to Columbia this past weekend to celebrate Ty’s birthday with family and attend the Mizzou game.  Unfortunately it poured the game, we got soaked and lost.  But at least we did score…

Before the game, we took a stroll around campus and got some great shots of everyone.
