Auntie Karissa

Auntie Karissa came up for the weekend to visit and play with Tyler. We had alot of fun and even got to go out for our first date night since Ty was born. It was fun, we went to dinner at Macaroni Grill and saw the movie Grown Ups. It was hilarious and I would definitely recommend it. Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock, Kevin James, and Rob Schneider - how could it not be funny.

Gaither's backyard menagerie

So yesterday I came home to three baby bats trying to crawl across our driveway so I scooped them up in a trash can and dumped them out at the base of our crab apple tree only to find the mama bat hanging upside down in that very tree. I watched the baby bats for awhile until the crawled to a weed that was tall enough to hang upside down from. Then tonight we go out to pick some blackberries and I showed Jeremy the bird's nest I found in the blackberries a couple days ago only now there are 4 eggs inside! I also found one broken egg on the ground and one not broken egg, so we put the one that is ok back in the nest. Anyone know what kind of bird's egg they are? Oh yeah, and we have some drain tile that we store under the deck that the rabbits think is the perfect place for their home and they are driving Toby crazy because he can't get inside the tube to get them. Well, what can I say, its never boring at our house.

Florida Vacation

We had alot of fun in Florida, ate some great food and got some awesome pictures. We went deep sea fishing on Karissa's birthday and caught 12 fish among 5 people. It was fun and we would definitely do that again. The rest of the week we spent time at the pool, the beach and we spent one day on Sanibel Island hunting for shells and visiting the wildlife refuge. We also went to Lover's Key State Park (which is where we stayed for our honeymoon 6 years ago!) We started off on a trail through the park only to get soaked about 10 minutes in, but on our mad dash back down the trail to the car a huge turtle crossed our path and Jeremy got lots of pictures. The turtle didn't even care that we were there, he just went about his business munching on some leaves. We ate at a new place for breakfast our last day there called the Heavenly Biscuit and it definitely was heavenly. I have a huge cinammon roll that just melted in your mouth and both it and Jeremy's biscuit were super soft and yummy. I only wish we would've found that place sooner in the week!

Second flight

Slept 30 minutes of the second flight to DC and then some other baby started crying and woke us up.
Ty had fun standing up and chewing on daddy's cup.
One more flight and we're off to the beach.

All ready for vacation!

Well, the countdown is over and we are leaving for vacation early tomorrow morning. Tyler was very excited once all the bags were packed. Stay tuned for updates throughout the week.
