Santa

We took Tyler to the fire station to see Santa. He wasn't scared and didn't really seem to care, but we got some cute pictures out of the deal.

First Shots

Well, we took Tyler for his 2 month check up and to get his first shots Tuesday.

He weighed 12.4 pounds and was 23.25 inches long. (At birth he was 8.10 lbs and 21 inches long)

He's been doing really well after his shots. We were prepared and dreading him having a fever and being really grumpy, but instead, he slept the longest night yet and has been his happy little self. Thank goodness.

After the 2 real shots!
But then we got a pacifier and fell asleep on the ride home. :)

Busy Thanksgiving

We had a very busy Thanksgiving and saw almost our entire family and traveled all over southern Missouri.

Tyler is really growing fast, we can't believe he's going to be 8 weeks old in just 3 days. It seems like yesterday we were just driving to the hospital. He's already outgrown newborn and size 1 diapers, we're on to size 2. We have our 8 week appt. next Tuesday and Tyler's first round of shots, so nobody is looking forward to that. We're praying he does okay and doesn't get too upset or get a fever from the shots. We'll let you know how it goes.

Relaxing family weekend

We sat in our bumbo seat for the first time. We can't really hold our head up by ourselves yet, we just wanted to try it out.
We had a great weekend just relaxing at home and putting up our Christmas decorations. More pictures of that to come. Saturday we finished remodeling the basement bathroom. It is now a pretty red color and of course we forgot to take before pictures. Basically we painted, put up new trim and installed a new six panel door so now it matches the rest of the house. We really like how it turned out...especially considering we picked out the paint color in all of 2 minutes.
Since the weather was so nice on Saturday, Jeremy got on the roof and put up his new LED Christmas lights we bought at the end of last season. We haven't actually turned them on at night yet...maybe after Thanksgiving. We also put up the Christmas tree and I'm still working on the rest of the decorations around the house. Tyler loves the tree and just stares at it while sitting in his bouncer. We can't wait to celebrate this holiday season with him.
We also had the first of many photo shoots - it takes alot of shots to get a good picture of a baby. We had a couple that turned out well, hope you enjoy.

Almost back to my birth weight

Well, I went to the pediatrician yesterday and I've gained a couple ounces and now I weight 8lb and 4 oz - almost back to my birth weight. Doc says I'm gaining good weight and should be back to my birth weight of 8lb 11 oz by Sunday.

I'm eating about every 3 hours for about an hour each time, though I get really sleepy towards the end and mommy has to keep me awake so I eat more. I love play time with daddy, especially when we both lay on our tummies and just look at each other. I've been peeing through my diapers and some days I go through 3 outfit changes just to keep dry clothes on. My umbilical cord is going to fall off any day now and I'm excited to have my first bath at home and get my hair washed again.

Sometimes I toot and make mommy laugh while she's feeding me just so I can have a milk shake. :) Hope you enjoy these new pictures mommy took of me.

More pictures of Tyler

And now, what you've all been waiting for... (drumroll please) more pictures of our cutie!

Everyone is doing great. Tyler is eating really well and we're working hard to gain 1 lb to get back to our birth weight by next week's appointment. I am still sore...well, everywhere, but it seems to be getting better each day so that's encouraging. Enjoy the pictures! Don't forget you can click on the picture to enlarge it.

Nursery almost complete!

The nursery is almost complete, just working on small decorations now. Jeremy finished the dresser this weekend and it looks amazing! The stain color we picked matches the crib perfectly, you can't even tell we didn't buy them together! :) We are really happy with the results if you can't tell. Still working on some decorations for the other walls.

Here are some pictures of the nursery. Toby loves it and thinks it's a special room for him. Jeremy couldn't keep him in the hall while he was trying to take pictures.

New trail

2 weeks ago we found a new trail by our house so we set out to explore and find out where it went. We're still trying to figure it out, but we went to the end and took some pictures along the way. It's a pretty trail and shaded most of the way. Check out our pictures below.
Some pretty flowers Jeremy found.
Toby loves walks! And there was alot to explore on this one!

Lots of updates

Well, I had another doctor's appointment last Friday - week 34 - can't believe there's only 6 weeks left. It was exciting to learn that he had completely flipped from the left side to the right side. She believes he is still head down, which is good. He's moving and kicking all the time now and Jeremy likes to poke him to get him started again. We started organizing the baby's room this weekend, open the pack n play and figured out how that works. Still trying to figure out how to fit all the pieces in the travel bag, from talking with other people, apparently it can be done.

Jeremy got a lot done on the dresser/changing table and it looks great. We had a moment of defeat, but after staring at it for awhile, someone came up with a good idea and it actually worked. It's all put together, the drawers just need to be installed and the whole thing needs to be stained. Went to Home Depot and I'm pretty sure we found a stain that will match the crib pretty well. Now the only thing that need to be built is the changing table part, which is just a box that will sit on top of the dresser and hold the changing pad.

We went to Babys-R-Us and purchased the crib bedding and receiving blankets. The nursery is slowly coming together...now if I can just figure out what to put on the walls. I have a couple of black frames, but I don't know what to put in them...I guess I could just wait and put pictures of him in them. Any suggestions?

Florida

The past week we've been in Florida visiting friends and family for our Babymoon (the last vacation before the baby comes...and things get really crazy.) We flew to Orlando and stayed with our great friends Joe and Amanda who live in Melbourne, an hour southeast of Orlando. We had a great time just hanging out, eating some great food and playing in the water at the beaches. We went to Melbourne Beach, Cocoa Beach and North Shore beach. We definitely enjoyed Cocoa and North Shore beaches the best because of the great waves. We boogie boarded and collected black and gold shells for their Mizzou room. We had some great pizza at Bizarro's and good seafood at Coconuts on the beach. Of course we took them to Sonny's and treated them to the best bbq.

Joe and Amanda's dog, Diesel.
Boogie boarding! Here's our picture in front of the now famous Miss Mizzou boat. And some great pictures at sunset out by the beach.
28 weeks
Monday we rented a car and drove to Milton to see Jeremy's sister and her family. We relaxed by the pool, ate some more great food, played with our nephews and got rained on when we tried to visit the Black River State Park. This park is only 30 minutes away and it great. It was white sandy beaches and the spring fed river has a sand bottom.

One of the last nights Lynn took us to her office and we got some more ultrasound pictures of Baby Gaither. 120 to be exact. It was really fun and the 3D pictures are amazing. He's got my ears, but his face is all Jeremy. He even pouted while Lynn was poking at him and he looked just like when Jeremy pouts and sticks out his lower lip. Very cute! We were hoping to go back another night to get longer video clips, but ran out of time.

Here's a couple of the 3D images, I'll try to post more later in the week.
Thanks to the Johnson's and Tierney's for having us. We had a great time and you're welcome at our house anytime! I would also like to thank Travis and Lauren Wilson for a ride to the airport and Katie and Myla Hunsaker for a ride home. You all made our Babymoon a great relaxing time!
