The Lake
We went to the lake last weekend with some friends and had a great time. The weather was perfect. It stormed Friday and Saturday – but at night. It was sunny and hot during the day. Tyler had a ball playing with Jordyn and Claire. It took him awhile to get used the water, but by the end of the day he was “jumping” off the dock to Jeremy.
Thanks for the great weekend Mittlehausers!

Mr. and Mrs. Pinkerton
Jeremy’s sister, Amanda got married last week to a great guy – Pete Pinkerton. They got married on a remote Bahamas island at a Sandals resort. I just got the pictures from the wedding and they are great and Amanda – you look beautiful!
the ceremony
first kiss… and I love the one on the right!
Just beautiful!
These pictures really make me want to go to the Bahamas – it just looks amazing!
Congratulations Amanda and Pete!
Legos, cake practice, and summer lounging
A couple weeks ago we had a great idea to make a lego table for Tyler. We took an old end table, painted it black and glued 4 lego baseplates onto a piece of wood that fits on top of the table. Tyler loves it and will play with his legos a lot longer now.
Jeremy’s sister, Amanda got married last week in the Bahamas! Before they left, they stopped by to see us and we had them practice feeding each other the cake. Thanks for being such good sports! Can’t wait to see their pictures from the beach wedding!
Cutting the cake.
We told Pete he could just smear it all over her face since she didn’t have her dress on, but he was nice and didn’t get messy at all.
Lounging with dad watching our favorite show – Sesame Street!
Splash! and a table!
So, swimming lessons went great yesterday. He kicked his legs while laying on his stomach and back in the water and even tried to blow bubbles in the water.
Then we came home and while we were playing I asked him to do a couple stretches we do at gymnastics class. His favorites are the butterfly and table. He’s been able to do the butterfly for several weeks, but never got the table down…until yesterday! Below are some pictures, I’m so proud and can’t wait to show off at class Tuesday (so hopefully he’ll do it in class!)

20 months
We can’t believe Ty is 20 months old and dare I say…almost 2! He’s talking more and more and really letting us know what he wants…and doesn’t want. We started swimming lessons last Monday and our first lesson wasn’t the greatest. He cried almost the entire time. So we practiced in our pool the rest of the week and once he gets used to the water he does much better. Lessons were cancelled yesterday because of lightening, so I’m hoping tomorrow’s class goes much better than last week.
He loves the park and can climb on most of the equipment by himself. He’s also learning to play with others and wants to play with other kids. He often seeks out the older kids and tries to follow them when they are running around.
We’re headed to the lake this weekend with some friends so I’m hoping he will tolerate being in his life jacket and enjoy riding on the boat. There will be two other little girls his age so that should help.
Well, I hope to be back tomorrow to report a successful swim lesson!

Busy boy
Tyler has quite a busy June coming up. I have found that Tyler takes better and longer naps if he’s tired, so I’ve signed him up for several activities this summer. Starting tomorrow he has swim lessons every Monday and Wednesday for 4 weeks and I enrolled him in gymnastics for one more month (which is on Tuesdays).
He is learning so much in gymnastics and really likes it. He had fun in swim lessons last year so I hope this year goes well too…especially since daddy just opened the pool and I don’t want him to be scared of the water.
On a side note, we discovered we had tadpoles living in the water that was in the pool cover so now we have a trashcan full of tadpoles that we saved last night while opening the pool. We should have tons of frogs later this month.
