Egg hunt and Cali
This past weekend we went to visit my sister in California. When we arrived they had an Easter egg hunt ready.
Getting a little help from Uncle Morgan.
After the egg hunt we went a cool hike in Malibu. Definitely different than the hikes we are used to here in Vegas. See those trees?!
The trail ended at a 50 ft waterfall. Ty had a blast here throwing rocks into the water.
We had a busy Saturday. After hiking we went to the Santa Monica muscle beach. As you can see, it was pretty cold – fleece! in California!? It was super windy too, so we didn’t stay that long.
Of course we had to check out the waves before we left.
Uncle Morgan trying to find a sand crab! No luck…bummer!
Sunday we went to a children’s museum in Pasadena. It was pretty cool and of course had tons of hands on stuff for kids to do.
Ha – not so sure about touching the fake fly.
Climbing on some fake root balls.
We were pretty tired by this point. No nap Saturday, late bedtime and early waketime = daddy buying us a push pop to calm down.
It got everywhere!

Time out
Inspired by my sister in law’s time out spot mat for her son, I made Ty his own time out mat. Funny, ever since I made it a couple days ago, we haven’t had to use it…and I really want to cause it’s so cute! Guess I should be happy though that he hasn’t needed a time out.
So, I found a cute placemat at Target, used my die cutter machine to cut the letters out of vinyl (contact paper), placed on the placemat and sponge painted the stencil.
Before
After. Don’t you love it!?
Let me know if you want/need one!

Valley of Fire
We had so much fun at Valley of Fire a couple weeks ago we just had to make another trip. This time we took Jeremy’s friend and coworker Matt. It’s about an hour from home we headed out as early as we could get Matt out of bed. Ha.
The trail we took was called White Domes. It was super windy and we were getting whipped in the face with sand until we finally got into the canyon – it was so pretty.
One of the reasons we like Valley of Fire is because of all the great holes Ty can climb in. And bonus, there is more sand to play with in the bottom of each cave.
After hiking the White Domes trail we had a picnic lunch and went on the Mouse’s Tank trail again. Ty was pretty tired by this point – but wouldn’t admit it. We saw lots of lizards on this trail, one even ran across the path right in front of us.
