Friday we got to the zoo when it opened and spent the entire day there. It was awesome.
One of the highlights wasn't even a zoo exhibit. It was the family of baby ducks!

we love hippos. This big guy, Otis, is 35 years old!
View from the ship looking at the harbor, bridge to Coronado and the famous kissing statue.
There were a bunch of tours you could take on different levels of the ship. Pretty unbelievable that people live on these. Ty loved all the passages, doors, chains, and hoses. He had to touch them all!
On top of the aircraft carrier were probably at least 20 planes.
After the Midway we crossed the bridge into Coronado and went on a bike ride - a little longer than expected....okay so twice as long as expected. I misread the map and we went on a 30 mile adventure. But hey, we got to ride the ferry back across the bay. That's the USS Midway behind us.The next day we went to the Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma to check out some awesome tidepools and a light house.
holding a snail!
There were tons of crabs - big and small and hermet crabs.
I found a starfish!
After an awesome morning here we went to La Jolla and had an awesome lunch with an amazing view.
La Jolla is known for all the sea lions that love their beaches.
