Construction has begun!

I'm so excited that Jeremy has started to work on the baby's dresser/changing table. He's building it from white oak wood that we bought from my uncle. It already looks amazing and only the framing is done. I can't wait to see the finished product and have our first family heirloom. Little does Jeremy know, but once he's done with the dresser, I'm kinda hoping for a bookshelf to match....

We can't believe how quickly October is approaching and feel like there is a never ending list of things to get done. The biggest of which is to register for all the stuff. We're hoping to tackle that in the next 2 weeks.

  1. Just a helpful hint from a new mom - get everything done you ever wanted to do around your house (within reason, of course). A lot of little things that I kept putting off are now put off until who knows when. And as for getting ready for baby, it's so much fun! We registered at around 20 weeks and did the nursery within the last few months, including paint, moulding, furniture, etc. It's still not completely decorated but she's not in there yet (except for diaper changes!). Congrats on having your first heirloom! You'll have to post pics!

  2. I love it that he's building the dresser/changing table. Be sure to write the baby's name/birth date on the bottom or back so there's a history for the generations to come.

Very cool, the dresser that Caedman used and we used the top of it as the changeing table is now used by Keagan. However it was used my me until Caedman was born. Our dresser was from my great, great grandfather. Now you too can have a great item to pass on and on.

Once Jeremy is done, I still have about 1000 sq feet of flooring to install, so keep him on the honey do list for me to use him.
